About this Event
A 5-day Holiday Camp designed for children to explore various make and build projects; to test ideas through hands-on exploration, training dexterity, creative and critical thinking while learning new skills.
On Day 1, students will explore model making and be creative building up their TreeHouse prototype with consideration for its form, features, levels, platforms and openings. With a natural tree branch given as a site context, children will visualize their design and learn the support and access needed for their TreeHouse design.
On Day 2 & 3, Students will be building an Eco-Home prototype where they will be introduced to various sustainable building design strategies, from keeping their home energy efficient to waste and water management; and learning about the benefits of green walls and green roofs for their building and the environment.
On Day 4, children will learn Basic Introduction to TinkerCAD + 3D Printing (Level 1).
Guided by experienced instructors and 3D printing specialists, students will learn TinkerCAD to create a mini stationery pot before exporting it to a 3D printer for printing. Students will witness the process of their digital form being printed from scratch.
While waiting for the 3D print, students will continue to explore TinkerCAD digital space; learning how to use the software as a design tool to create various digital forms. This immersive hands-on learning will empower them to envision, design, and shape their future prototypes.
On Day 5, the last day of the Holiday Camp, students will delve deeper into the exploration of TinkerCAD, mastering more advanced modelling techniques to design, model and 3D print their own creations.
DesignTinkers camps are specially designed and led by instructors who are architects, designers and educators with the passion and experience of working with young children to nurture their creative interests. Camps are held in our spacious and conducive classroom for kids to create and explore freely under guidance.
