About this Event
Every logo, every app screen, every social post you've ever liked — someone designed that. Today, that someone is you.
Design Your World is a hands-on session for high schoolers ages 55+ who want to learn the fundamentals of graphic and digital design using two of the most powerful free tools available — Canva and Claude Design. No art class required. No experience necessary. Just creativity, a laptop, and something you want to say to the world.
In just one hour, you'll learn how professional designers think and work — then apply those skills to a real design challenge: creating something for a cause, a brand, or an idea that matters to you personally.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
🎨 Design fundamentals crash course — Color, typography, layout, and spacing — the four building blocks that make anything look professional.
🖥️ Canva & Claude Design — hands-on — The tools used by real designers, marketers, and entrepreneurs worldwide. You'll build something from scratch.
✨ Create for a cause — Design a logo, poster, or social graphic for something you actually care about — your community, a business idea, a movement.
⚡ Live design challenge — A timed creative prompt to put your new skills to the test. Friendly, fun, and satisfying.
