Join us during Melbourne Rare Book Week for 'Design Process: Independent Publishing Then and Now' presented by publication designers and educators, Michael Bojkowski and Zenobia Ahmed. In this session Michael and Zenobia will share insights into the history of Melbourne's independent publishing scene; the processes used in the production of the material on display; and discuss continuing influence of publication design from the 1980s by sharing recent examples of projects that have drawn upon the RMIT Design Archives collections.
The RMIT Design Archives is a unique repository of Melbourne based design practices, and processes. The collection includes work by many small independent presses, such as Fast Forward Productions (cassette magazine), Is Not Magazine, Crowd Publications, Virgin Press and JillPosters.
