About this Event
This beginner-level 2 hour workshop will take participants through all the tools and functions of Adobe Photoshop, explore sweatshop-free merchandise design as a tool for mutual aid, the origins of graphic design, how to design for housing accessibility, over a decade-worth of design resources and tips, and more. The workshop engages the frameworks of design justice, capitalist and revolutionary design histories, maximalism, everyday design, surrealist product design, and hacking. Attendees leave fluent in Adobe Photoshop, with ample resources for exploring typography, 3d rendering, animation, portfolio design, merchandise production and fulfillment, web design, moodboarding, creative direction, and more. Zero experience necessary.
All attendees should bring or borrow a laptop, and have Adobe Photoshop downloaded. Photoshop has a free trial, then is $23/mo after for two computers (two people can split a license). Students + staff at many universities have free institutional access. Photoshop can also be torrented for free but is a little more buggy.
