About this Event

Design Justice Happy Hour is a social space for changemakers in New Orleans. Hosted bimonthly by Asia-Vinae and Chris.

  • DATE: Thursday, 9/26
  • TIME: 5:30-7 PM
  • LOCATION: Dodie's, 601 N. Broad @ Lafitte

The purpose of Design Justice Happy Hour is to bring together people working, organizing and dreaming for justice in New Orleans. This is a social space for you - whether you identify as a ‘designer’ or not.

We support a community of changemakers in our city and state, in and beyond  our roles as workers in education, health care, entrepreneurship, government, culture and the arts.

Join hosts Asia-Vinae Palmer and Chris Daemmrich as we talk current events, principles and practices. Some Happy Hours may feature a book or other media to inspire our conversations. No prior reading required!

Our September 26, 2024 event will feature the book 'Decolonizing Design: A Cultural Justice Guidebook' by Elizabeth 'Dori' Tunstall. See this link for more info on this book: https://mitpress.mit.edu/9780262047692/decolonizing-design/

Design Justice Happy Hour is a co-production of and at Tulane University.
