On March 15, 2026, Austin Home, in collaboration with the UT School of Architecture, AIA Austin, and Design Austin, introduces DESIGN HOUSE—a first-of-its-kind design destination.
Set inside Paseo by LV Collective, Austin’s most design-forward new high-rise on Rainey Street, DESIGN HOUSE is part summit, part salon, part party—and entirely focused on celebrating the creative disciplines shaping the built environment today. Architecture, interiors, art, and real estate converge for one dynamic afternoon and evening, spread across three distinct floors, each with its own energy and purpose.
The Invitational
48th Floor Lounge | 1–5 PM
At the top of the day—and the building—is The Invitational, an intimate gathering of design leaders hand-selected by the DESIGN HOUSE curatorial team. This is where big ideas take center stage.
Across a series of panels and conversations, some of the brightest minds in architecture and design will dig into the themes shaping the industry right now. Expect thoughtful provocations, candid dialogue, and moments of surprise—including a “back-of-the-napkin” sketch competition featuring four of Austin’s most celebrated architects, judged live by the audience.
The setting is intentionally elevated—both literally and figuratively. With sweeping views of the city as a backdrop, The Invitational is designed to feel exclusive without being insular: a room where meaningful exchange is the main event.

The Expo
2nd Floor Lounge | 2–5 PM
Down below, the doors are open wide.
The Expo transforms Paseo’s impeccably designed second floor into a lively, public-facing showcase of Austin’s creative community. As a DJ sets the tone, designers, makers, and leaders from across the built environment activate the space with small, curated installations that invite conversation and discovery.
This floor also features work by Paseo’s Artists-in-Residence alongside faculty work from the UT School of Architecture, creating a layered snapshot of Austin design as it exists today: experimental, collaborative, and deeply rooted in place.
The Expo is where industry insiders and design lovers mingle, ideas cross-pollinate, and SXSW’s signature buzz comes alive.

Spring Issue Editor’s Preview

As the sun begins to set, DESIGN HOUSE shifts gears for its final act: the Spring Issue Editor’s Preview, a lively happy hour celebrating the reveal of Austin Home’s Spring Issue: The Business of Design.
Set on the 12th floor pool deck, this closing gathering brings together a mix of casual design enthusiasts and industry leaders for light bites, drinks, and music with leaders featured in the issue.
