About this Event
Design Forward connects the dots between interior design and neurodiversity and will explore how designers can create safe and supportive spaces that promote wellbeing and impact mental health and cognitive function. Programming will focus on the business of designing for neurodiverse clients, the unique process of working with them, and how to market your services accordingly. Additionally, we will look at the elements of design - such as lighting, color, and texture, and how they affect the senses.
Content for the to-the-trade day is guided and led by: Lisa Kahn of Finding Sanctuary by Lisa Kahn Designs, Kristin Bartone of Bartone Designs, and Shelly Rosenberg of Acorn & Oak. Each of these designers has raised children with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities and is an advocate for inclusive design practices. There will be additional guests and speakers, including Natalie Castro of Autism Friendly Homes.
This is a full day of learning, discussing and working on your business. It will take place at Universal Furniture's Learning Center. A light breakfast and lunch will be served, and then after the education concludes, there will be an after party hosted in an HPxD member showroom.
