About this Event

Target Audience:

This course is designed for engineers, system designers, maintenance professionals, and operators involved in hydraulic system design, implementation, and maintenance. Attendees will learn to assess key design parameters and make informed decisions to enhance system longevity and functionality.


Prerequisites:

To ensure participants get the most out of this course, the following background knowledge is recommended:

  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Familiarity with industrial or mobile hydraulic applications.
  • Experience in system design, maintenance, or troubleshooting (preferred but not required).


In-Person or Online Learning:

The in-person session will be held in the training facility at RFA Engineering, 12986 Valley View Road, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55344.

This learning event is worth 14 PDHs


Course Overview:

This training course provides a comprehensive understanding of the critical design considerations for reservoirs, filtration, cooling systems, and hydraulic fluids in industrial and mobile hydraulic applications. Participants will gain insight into best practices for selecting and maintaining these components to optimize hydraulic system performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the key functions and design considerations of hydraulic reservoirs, including sizing, inlet, return, and drain requirements.
  • Evaluate filtration needs, identify sources of contamination, and apply ISO filtration standards.
  • Determine cooling requirements, assess cooler types, and optimize fluid temperature control for system efficiency.
  • Differentiate between various types of hydraulic fluids and understand their impact on system performance, including fluid degradation causes and prevention.
  • Apply best practices for component selection, placement, and maintenance to improve system longevity and reliability.
  • Analyze system design considerations to enhance operational efficiency and prevent common hydraulic failures.
