Learn how to design & create stage set this school holidays! We have an awesome opportunity for youth to receive skills on how to put together a stage set! Our local professionals are Bella Christine Hessell (art), Nââwié Tutugoro (art & theatre), Kashmir Postel (theatre) and Adele Harrison (theatre decor & sets). This amazing lineup of wahine toa will run the four day workshop which will include:
-Daily theatre games to feel out the stage and warm up our bodies
-Learning about show types and what is required to create an amazing looking set
-Acquiring set design tips and skills
-Observing and practising painting techniques
-Working in groups to create miniature sets using natural materials
-Performing a short performance at the end for family and friends
To put these skills into action, the group will collectively create a large Pōhutukawa tree for an upcoming Christmas play.
DATES: Monday 22nd- Thursday 25th September
TIMES: 10am-2pm
AGES: 10-15 years
