About this Event
DesignTinkersKidz will explore design and architectural concepts through hands-on model making and sketching. They will be introduced to Design Thinking which encourages them to take a solution-based approach in their creations, by focusing on who they are designing for and responding to the user’s needs and challenges.
We encourage children to re-think, reuse, recycle and repurpose common materials from daily lives for their creations.
At the start of the camp week, children will get to work in pairs/ small teams to build a life-size structure.
The children will also be introduced to the concept of Modules in Design. They will get creative with everyday objects to design their own unique modules before transforming it into a replicable system to form larger and infinite designs. We are excited to test the infinite module design possibilities together and they will be delighted to take home their own unique creations !
DesignTinkersKidz will progress in the week to create their individual home designs. They will learn the basics of model making and they will be so proud to go home with a prototype of their home design. They shall have a fabulous time exploring and testing their ideas; materialising them in 3D!

We strive to keep a low facilitator-to-child ratio to maximise the learning experience.
Cancellation Policy:
For cancellations of camp/ workshop due to unforeseen COVID restrictions, a full refund will be issued to you.
Given the limited availability of slots due to the small size of our camp/ workshop, we do not accept cancellations once booked and full payment made, if there is a change of mind.
Camp/ workshop bookings are however transferable to another child of the same age group if your child is unable to attend, if a written request is made 7 days prior to camp/ workshop.
DesignTinkers reserves the right to cancel a camp/ workshop if minimum group size sign-ups requirement is not obtained, or when Covid-19 safe management measures cannot be met, you will be notified 5 days before camp start date and a full refund will be issued to you.
Given the nature of a camp format, we are unable to offer make-up camps in the event of a no-show or cancellation. Any alternative arrangements that may be offered out of goodwill (e.g. joining a similar camp at a different location/date/time) are strictly subject to availability. No refunds will be given if an alternative arrangement cannot be arranged.
In the event that your child presents any Covid-19 symptoms on any given day of the camp/ workshop, we seek your cooperation to see a doctor, keep them home and not attend the camp/ workshop. Children who appear to our facilitators to be symptomatic on the day of camp/ workshop will not be allowed to join and they will be required to be picked up promptly. We will issue a credit note upon the receipt of a medical certificate, and an alternative arrangement will be made for your child to attend another session suitable for his age and interest if available, otherwise, a full refund will be issued to you.
