German Melodic Death Metal trio Deserted Fear – in its core composed of guitarist/vocalist Manuel “Mahne” Glatter, guitarist and main songwriter/producer Fabian Hildebrandt as well as drummer Simon Mengs – continue to fearlessly build upon the reputation they’ve established since emerging in 2007 as a beastly force of thunderous riffs, pummeling drums, and blood-curdling vocals with each new release and their brutal campaign as one of the most powerful live-acts within their style appears unstoppable.
The band’s most recent, fifth studio album – 2022’s “Doomsday” – unmistakably represents the most liberated, varied, and authentic declaration of their intentions to date. On “Doomsday”, Deserted Fear reach for immersive soundscapes and unforgiving onslaughts of thrash with a confidence and command that’s usually reserved for veteran, arena-level headliners. Next to praising feedback by both media and the band’s faithful supporters, “Doomsday” not only seamlessly followed 2019’s “Drowned By Humanity” album (#20 on the official album charts in Germany) in terms quality and growth, but also managed to achieve an impressive Top 10 chart success upon initial release, when it entered the official album charts in Germany on #8.
Operating at a blistering pace in terms of studio output – five studio albums as well as a couple of EP’ released within the decade since their debut in 2012 –, as well as hitting the road in recent years with the likes of Obituary, At The Gates, Morbid Angel, Dark Tranquillity, Ensiferum, Overkill or Insomnium to amount to more than 250 shows all over Europe so far, Deserted Fear keep committed to further reach amongst the international Metal crowd with their relentless and conclusive musical attitude and to firmly and ambitiously remain at the forefront of the current new generation of Melodic Death Metal.
