Would you love a career working with expecting parents through their pregnancy and birth? If so, sign up today for the next Labor Doula Training! This 18-hour training is the first step towards certification. This unique opportunity will give you the education and skills necessary to support families through the transition to parenthood.
CAPPA Labor Doulas:
*Provide non-biased emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor and the birth process, and the immediate postpartum period
*Work closely with the birthing family as they explore their values and needs surrounding birth
*Encourage the birthing person to seek care and a place of birth that reflects their values and needs
*Assist in the preparation of birth preferences to facilitate communication with the birth team
*Model, teach, and encourage effective communication
*Encourage informed decision making
*Provide information on birth options and resources
*Provide non-medical comfort techniques for labor, such as positions and movement, comforting touch, visualization, breathing techniques, and affirmation
*Seek to foster a cooperative, respectful, and positive atmosphere with the birth team
*Provide support to the birthing person's partner or family
*Support and assist initial breastfeeding
*Assist in processing the birth experience
*Answer general questions about newborn care and breastfeeding
This training is taught by Katie Nyberg, CLD, CPD, CNPE, CLE, CPST who loves to make trainings informative and interactive! Her goal is to help students feel prepared for work with families immediately after their training.
Train with the Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association, an international organization for Doulas, Childbirth Educators, and Lactation Educators. CAPPA trainings are designed to educate and equip the contemporary perinatal professional for a successful career in a fun, supportive, and collaborative environment. Trainings are evidence based and comprehensive, and are designed to appeal to all learning styles. Students will enjoy engaging and interactive instruction, with practical and real-world scenarios.
