The Derwent Water Way via Catbells is a captivating 9 mile hike that combines tranquil lakeside paths with an exhilarating ascent. Starting at the shores of Derwent Water, the route meanders through beautiful woodlands and meadows, providing a peaceful and scenic journey.
As you approach Catbells (451m), the hike transitions into a more challenging ascent, leading to one of the Lake District's most iconic summits. The climb is invigorating and offers panoramic views of the Borrowdale and Newlands valley and the lake below, making it a rewarding experience for hikers of all levels.
Date: Saturday 21st of September 2024
Meeting Time: 6 AM for those travelling by minibus. 10 AM for those who have purchased a hike only ticket.
Start Time: 10 AM.
Distance: 9 miles.
