Derby Era Delights: Golden Age Cocktails

The first running of the Kentucky Derby took place on May 17th, 1875. It would take a few years for its now iconic drink, The Mint Julip, to claim the spot as the official cocktail of America’s Greatest Race, however, that doesn't discount the fact that the late 19th and early 20th centuries were a golden age for cocktails. Many of our favorite cocktail recipes such as the Martinez, Old Fashioned and even Derby Day's iconic Julip were conceived in the late 1800s. Join Ray’s own Cocktail Crusader Scott Smits as he showcases a collection of Derby-themed and Pre-Prohibition era cocktails. Your admission will include 4 pre-1920s petite cocktails with presentations on techniques and histories from this golden age of mixology. It's going to be a fun one, so make sure not to come last for this race!
