Fun, laughter, dancing out of time with the music, probably have sore feet afterwards.
It's not technical & half the fun is making mistakes.

Never been to a ceilidh?

Actually, it doesn’t matter how many of them you’ve done before, or if you’ve done none at all. The person calling the dances (me Schuggie😍) tells everyone what they need to do, and keeps it going. Everyone dances with everyone, whether you know each other or not. The more people the better!

Everyone gets a go. No one has the chance to bust different moves, and because no one *really* knows what’s going on🤣 it’s very difficult to feel self-conscious.

Essentially, most people are just guessing what they’re supposed to be doing, and that makes it brilliant. There are lots of friendly folks to give you a hand and get everyone up dancing. We call these folks, Ceilidh Ninjas.

Our ceilidhs are fun, social and inclusive🌈. You will however need to bring along a sense of humour as half the fun of ceilidh dances is making mistakes💕. You don’t have to be a member of any Ceilidh Club to come and join in the craic.

We usually dance to recorded music (very retro✨) with all the dances being called however, we might well 🤞 have a band along – which will mean dancing to live music at no extra charge🎶.

Ceilidhs are enjoyed by all ages – from youngsters' first Scottish dancing experience to old-timers out enjoying a burl. People come dressed in jeans, full highland dress – and everything in between.

Wear something comfortable to dance in.

📹Our ceilidhs will be recorded to improve the dancer's experience i.e. how I call the dances to improve dancers' experience and to advertise future ceilidhs.

If you don't want to be included in any of these promotional videos, please let me know on the night.

Lastly, please don't take your own alcohol into the hotel🍻 Buy your drinks from the bar and don't forget the hotel now has new proprietors- so the water is free.

Any questions regarding the night- message me.
