Back by public demand - Denny Ilett & friends pay tribute to old blue eyes.
The first Fringe Jazz Sinatra Special was back in 2014 when Andy Sheppard's Pushy Doctors invited Denny Ilett to join them on guitar and vocals for a Sinatra night. The gig was such a success that we invited Denny back to do it again as part of our Christmas schedules in 2016,17 &18. We had booked the gig for 2020, but it had to be cancelled due to the Pandemic. So we are really pleased to have Denny and his Sinatra Special back this year.
Denny has a deep understanding and love of Frank Sinatra's music and has presented his Sinatra tribute at Jazz festivals across Europe and the UK. For tonight's concert he has put together a very special sextet line-up featuring some of Bristol and the UK's top jazz musicians - alongside Denny on guitar and vocals we have the multi talented Ruth Hammond on saxophone, the brilliant guitarist Chris Cobbson, best known for his work with Courtney Pine, Fringe Jazz favourite Dan Moore on piano, the superb bassist Nick Pini and the sensational young drummer Alex Goodyear.
This is going to be a very special gig. A great way to get in the mood for Christmas and to celebrate the end of the 10th year of Fringe Jazz.
