"The Dennis Gillan Scholarship Fund has been created to assist in the post high school education of a high school senior from Bureau or Lee Counties (Illinois) who will continue his or her education in agriculture, environmental science, outdoor hospitality, construction or a trade, such as welding, diesel mechanics or heavy equipment operating. Dennis Gillan resided in Bureau and Lee Counties his entire life and was a local farmer, business owner, Local 150 Operating Engineer and Local 393 Laborer. His livelihood was built on hard work and sweat equity, and it is the hope of his family that the recipient of this scholarship will show the same work ethic and values in achieving his or her goals."
