TICKETS ON SALE WEDNESDAY JULY 30 For many years, PEI singer-songwriter Dennis Ellsworth has been quietly making some of the most personal and acutely honest music, not only here in the east, but all across Canada. Through a series of limited run albums and releases, he sets the tone of an introspective writer, with the gift of beautifully getting to the heart of the sentiment.
Many may already be familiar with Ellsworth, through his work as the frontman for Tragically Hip tribute act, Fabulously Rich. It’s a role he cherishes, and with good reason. For perspective, Gord Downie, in the later stages of his sickness, was listening to Dennis’ music almost exclusively, and during his lifetime, their mutual love and respect turned to friendship, as the two collaborated on a musical version of Downie’s poem Coke Machine Glow. The project was released on Ellsworth’s Hazy Sunshine album, which was recorded at the Hip’s Bathhouse Studios.
Join us for an intimate evening with this very special songwriter, as he performs within the beautiful confines of Gallery 78, one of the most beautiful venues in the east.
