Dennis Ellsworth is a songwriter, performer and producer from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. For the last decade he has been releasing solo records, but he has once again resurrected the alt-country band Haunted Hearts, for which is he the main songwriter and lead singer.
Over the years, Dennis has worked with an impressive list of artists, producers and songwriters, including collaborations with Josh Finlayson and Andy Maize of Skydiggers, Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip, Joel Plaskett, Donovan Woods, and David Barbe of Sugar and long time producer for Drive-by Truckers. His songs have been used in television programs like Saving Hope, Heartland, Northern Rescue, Burden of Truth, and the award winning feature film, The New Romantic.
Ellsworth has 11 albums to his credit and he’s currently rolling out an album trilogy called Bound by Love. Flowers in Your Head was released in December 2020, The Grass Is Always Greener on the Other Side is set for March 3, 2021 and Wolves Not Far comes out on April 28, 2021. These albums ruminate on becoming a parent, attempt to take an optimistic look at the onset of a global pandemic, and try to bring some light to what seems like a few dark years ahead. Nevertheless, there is a scent of hope in the air and Dennis is happy enjoying the extended time with his family…and of course, writing many more songs.
