The seventh Denmark Summer Early Music Workshops will once again offer amateur and professional singers and instrumentalists the opportunity to immerse themselves in Early Music for the five days of the workshops. Our music tutors are among the best in Australia and will teach five streams:
RECORDER: Antonio Carrilho, international virtuoso recorder performer, pedagogue and conductor from Portugal
STRINGS : Shaun Lee-Chen, Violinist and Concertmaster of Australian Brandenburg Orchestra
CELLO: Noeleen Wright, Baroque cello specialist
VOICE: Brianna Louwen, Sydney based soprano and voice coach
DOUBLE REED: Stephen Robinson, Baroque Oboist and one of Australia's best known wind musicians
FLUTE/TRAVERSO: Andy Skinner, Baroque Flautist with Australian Baroque
HARPSICHORD: Stewart Smith, director for the Centre for Keyboard Heritage and Performance Research, WAAPA
All teach from an historically performed practice perspective bringing the Baroque to Life!
The workshop will be made up of morning technique classes,
afternoon ensembles, both large and small, and
evenings for small groups and blackboard concerts. Instrument pitch for the workshops will be A415 and A440
Accommodation is available on site at the WA College of Agriculture, Denmark.
