Speaker Profile:

Jamie Tan

Jamie started his real estate career in 1996 after having graduated from an honours degree in Estate Management in the United Kingdom. Besides Value & Risk Advisory, he has extensive experience in Property Development, Project Management, Project Sales & Marketing, Property Management, Expert Witness and Research & Consultancy.

Before joining JLL, he was the Executive Director of Appraisal Malaysia, a valuation firm with more than 50 years of track record. In November 2023, JLL acquired a stake in Appraisal Malaysia with Jamie as its Managing Director. He is also a Director of Appraisal Property Management, JLL’s Integrated Facilities Management business in Malaysia.

Nicolas Konialidis

Nicolas Konialidis is the Director (Asia) of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC). He is also the technical director of the IVSC’s Business Valuation Board. He has three decades of experience in equity markets, corporate finance, and valuations in Europe, the USA and Asia. Nicolas is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA) and an Associate Member of the ASA. He has been based in Singapore since 2009.

Dato Mani Usilappan

Dato Mani Usilappan retired as the Director General of the Valuation and Property Services Department of the Ministry of Finance in February 2006. He is currently the Managing Director of VPC Alliance (Kajang) Sdn Bhd. Dato’ Mani is a Property Consultant by profession having qualified as a Chartered Valuation Surveyor in 1976. He began work as a Valuation Assistant in the Singapore Government Service in 1971 before moving on to the Malaysian Civil Service in 1973 and has more than 50 years’ experience in real estate valuation and property consultancy services. He has extensive experience in valuation for all sorts of purposes with special interests in all classes of Asset Valuations, Compensation Valuations, Property Tax Valuations, Investment and Development based valuations. He has been involved in discussions and drafting of amendment to the laws that relate to property, Compulsory Land Acquisition, National Policies on Real Estate and Standards Setting for Valuation, Estate Agency and Property Management purposes. He has carried out several thousand land acquisition cases both in the government and outside in private practice. In the Government Service he provided property based advice to the Ministry of Finance, Bank Negara and Economic Planning Unit.
