About this Event
As a coder you encounter algorithms all of the time. Most of your functionality in games is wrapped in these mystical beings. So what is an algorithm? In this workshop we will discuss the nature of algorithms + determinism and why they are essential to the work as a game programmer. The workshop will be interactive and teach you the basics on this elemental topic.
Together we will look at two common examples for algorithmic solutions in Unity. Pathfinding and ways to handle big amounts of data are essential to the arsenal of game developers. We will implement these two using simple methods in the programming language C#, so that you will soon see the fruits of your labor. Just a few lines of code that will create a lot of fuzz. Take the first steps to learn how to use this powerful tool, to seize control over all sorts of behaviours as a game programmer and to step into the great world of *determinism*.
No previous experience is required - just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm. We look forward to welcoming you to the SAE Institute Berlin!
