ADHD is one of the most common neurodivergent profiles among young people today. In fact, in 2023, 1 in 4 youth on North Vancouver Island reported having ADD or ADHD ...but there’s still a lot of confusion, stigma, and unanswered questions, especially for families. That’s why are hosting Demystifying ADHD, a free information night designed to give parents and caregivers a clear, supportive introduction to what ADHD really is.

In this session, we’ll cover:
➡️The basics of ADHD — the core features of characteristics
➡️The ADHD brain — including how dopamine plays a key role
➡️Practical strategies to support your child at home, at school, and in daily life
➡️Where to turn for support and resources in the Comox Valley
Whether your child has an ADHD diagnosis or you're just starting to ask questions, this is a chance to learn, ask, and connect — in a safe, judgment-free space.
Facilitated by Rachel Ducommun, Prevention and Early Intervention Coordinator with the John Howard Society of North Island and Foundry Comox Valley. Rachel is an avid mountain biker, hockey player, and one of the developers of ‘Life in the Fast Brain’ (a Foundry CV group that seeks to redefine the narrative surrounding ADHD and provide a safe space for education, acceptance and empowerment). Guided by the mantra “your brain is not broken,” this fast-paced, activity-based group was designed by fast brains, for fast-brains.
