The States are offering a FREE walking tour end of September called "Democracy Week – Free Democracy themed walking tour of St. Helier". Yes, the States. If you're interested in going, you just go to Event Brite and sign up (I have). Spaces are limited. They also have a free tour of the States Chamber, too, on Event Brite.
Afterwards, we can go to the Pierson for a drink, as I think that's the most appropriate pub to meet after doing a walking tour about Jersey! 😉
This is what the tour says:
Learn about these Jersey heroes, and the villains of their time; uncover the sites of battles and riots, find hidden messages in the pavements and road signs, and delve into the Island’s democratic history in a fun and informative way, with a humorous twist.
Meet in the Royal Square, St. Helier, by the statue of King George II by 10am. The tour will finish at the Victorian Markets – the centre of town trade then and now.
