The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus (LWVMC) is proud to announce that the 2024 Democracy In Action Award event will honor Rev. John Edgar for his lifelong commitment to the residents of the southside of Columbus and his advocacy for affordable & inclusive housing.
Rev. Edgar has selected two honorary co-chairs for the event: Dr. Kelly J. Kelleher, VP Community Health at Nationwide Children's Hospital and Dr. Lisa Courtice, President and CEO of United Way of Central Ohio. Master of Ceremonies for the Democracy In Action event will be Angela Pace, Director of Community Affairs at WBNS-10TV.
Democracy In Action will begin at 6:00pm with a reception of hors d’oeuvres and beverages. The program will start at 7:00pm.
Funds raised from the Democracy In Action Award event support the mission of the League of Women Voters in central Ohio to promote the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influence public policy through education and advocacy. Sponsor support ensures the continuation of the League’s vital services, including the nonpartisan voter guide; voter registration events; candidate forums; educational events; and good government.
Free parking is available in the lot on the west side of the Theatre. Street parking is also available.
