A dementia-friendly screening of the revered 1990 rom-com Pretty Woman, starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, is taking place on Tuesday 30 April at 11.00am.These screenings are open to all, but are especially catered for those living with dementia and their friends, family and carers. These screenings are made dementia-friendly by taking away the ads and trailers before the film, keeping the lighting on low, reducing the volume to a more comfortable level and adding a 20 minute interval roughly halfway through the film. You are also welcome to arrive 30 minutes before the film (which starts when stated) for free tea, coffee and biscuits and a chance to socialise in the bar area.
Tickets are just £4.30 – accompanying carers are admitted for free – and can be bought online or at the box office.
