About this Event
We know that at least 50% of Australians living with dementia are undiagnosed. Without a diagnosis, people with dementia are unable to access treatments and services which decrease symptoms and improve quality of life. It is also more difficult for them and their families to adjust to life and to plan for their future.
Face Dementia is a research project and public awareness campaign that aims to increase public knowledge about the variety of symptoms associated with dementia, the benefits of getting a dementia diagnosis and provide advice on how to navigate personal and health care environments to achieve a diagnosis and access support.
The campaign is targeting both community members who may be a supporter of an older person (and are often still active in the workforce), and people aged over 65 years of age.
