About this Event

The Ban Ki-moon Centre, together with the RELX group is organizing a 1,5-hour, in-person roundtable discussion about the UK’s leadership potential to deliver climate adaptation action for agriculture in Africa. It will take place on 27 June 2023 at noon pm as part of the London Climate Action Week There will be a light lunch served before the panel discussions, as an opportunity to network with participants.

The 2020s are the decade to take ambitious climate action, especially to build resilience and help prevent hundreds of millions of people falling into poverty. The need to adapt to changing climatic conditions is pressing – and so is the need for increased international coordination and finance particularly for underfunded sectors such as agriculture in the Global South.

The event shall gather UK stakeholders and decision makers to discuss international climate adaptation activities. Reflecting on examples and success stories from the Sub-Saharan Africa around agricultural adaptation to climate change, the conversation will highlight how the UK must expand its leadership position for climate action.
