Welcome to Deliver the Change: Improving Reproductive Care for Every Woman!
This special evening will focus on the shared challenges women are facing here and in so many other parts of the world, and the practical solutions we’ve developed to empower women to meet and surmount them. We are thrilled to share that the guest speaker for the evening will be Venus Williams. Ms. Williams will be sharing her personal experience and perspective on the challenges women, particularly women of color, continue to face with respect to their reproductive health and wellbeing.
Every two minutes, a mother dies from complications of pregnancy and childbirth, and the stunning fact is that 75% of these deaths are preventable. Since 2009, Saving Mothers has been implementing low-cost interventions to reduce birth-related complications and prevent unnecessary maternal deaths worldwide.
Through programs such as our NYC mPOWHER program, Guatemala School of POWHER, and Kenya Maternal Care Continuum, Saving Mothers has been changing the course of women’s lives by broadening access to care, improving training of local providers, and implementing low-cost, high-impact interventions. Through this critical work, Saving Mothers is advancing maternal and reproductive healthcare for thousands of women in need.
