Mid-level intermediate. Mainly photographers with basic knowledge who want to expand their expertise in the use of light.

- How to analyze references and how that applies to on-set lighting setups from scratch

About the Instructors
Albert Font Garcia is a Spanish photographer and lighting designer. After living in London, Berlin, Barcelona and Madrid, he is currently based in New York where he works around the world. Albert is specialized in FASHION photography, nevertheless he combines COMMERCIAL projects with more PERSONAL ones.
Francisco Rios is a cinematographer from Spain and based in NY. His main scope of work is fashion and commercial motion and photography. He has worked with clients such as Nike, Givenchy and Loewe.
What to Expect
Day 1 — 10/12
9 am - 5 pm
Participants begin with an overview of fundamental lighting principles. This includes understanding different types of light sources (natural, artificial), qualities of light (soft, harsh, diffused), and the impact of light direction and intensity on subjects.
The workshop includes practical demonstrations by Albert Font Garcia & Francisco Rios. They will showcase various lighting setups using professional equipment such as strobes, continuous lights, reflectors, and modifiers. Participants observe how each setup affects the mood, texture, and composition of the photograph.
Participants are provided with opportunities to practice what they’ve learned. They can experiment with adjusting lights, positioning models or objects, and observing the changes in the resulting images.
Day 2 — 10/13

Instructors provide personalized feedback and tips to help participants refine their techniques.
Throughout the workshop, there are opportunities for participants to ask questions, seek clarification, and engage in group discussions. Critique sessions may be held where participants can receive constructive feedback on their work, further improving their understanding of lighting and composition.
