The Delaware Turkey Trot is a family friendly run/walk on Thanksgiving morning. There is a Kid’s run (Little Gobbler) for ages 8 and under. There is a 5K and a 1.5 mile option for the run/walk, and virtual option.New Course in 2025.
Get ready for a scenic and festive Thanksgiving run through the heart of downtown Delaware! Your race begins and ends on charming East Winter Street, near the library, passing by local favorites The Strand Theatre, 1808 and Mi Cerrito on your way to dash up historic Sandusky Street. Then it’s a smooth cruise down Wilmer before hitting an out-and-back stretch on Henry Street — a perfect place to find your rhythm. Then a unique crossing over the pedestrian bridge above Route 23, offering epic views and a fun change of pace. From there, it’s a final push down East Winter to the finish line celebration where it all began.
