
Join us for an evening of history architecture and engaging conversation as we welcome Dr. James Glass renowned preservationist and architectural historian for an author talk and book signing of his newest book Architecture in Indianapolis: 1820–1900.
The evening begins at 5:30 PM with a wine and cheese reception in the Welcome Center followed by Dr. Glass’s 6:00 PM talk on the historic architecture of Delaware Street. He will explore the diverse styles that shaped Indianapolis’ early cityscape—from Federal and Greek Revival to Italianate and French Second Empire—and examine how economic booms transportation advancements and urban growth influenced the city’s built environment.
