If you think classical music was all written hundreds of years ago in another country, you have been missing out! Come hear new string quartets by acclaimed composers including Jordan Kuspa, Polina Nazaykinskaya, Meilina Tsui, and Nina C. Young, and stay after to meet the composers in person.
The Hausmann Quartet has established itself as an integral part of the cultural life of Southern California since its arrival in San Diego in 2010. Founded in the summer of 2004 at Lyricafest, they have recently been hailed as “Excellent” by the San Diego Union-Tribune, which stated, “Their outstanding virtue is a rare one: the ability to disappear into and behind whatever they are playing, leaving only the music in view.”
The Del Mar International Composers Symposium (DMICS) exists to encourage the sharing of new musical ideas between composers, performers, and the community, and to present the best new concert music from around the world in the beautiful city of Del Mar.
