SBD in association with Runway Artists presentDEKKER
Saturday May 17th
American singer/songwriter Brookln Dekker, better known by his surname-moniker, DEKKER [and for wearing his unique wide-brimmed hat] released his third album ‘Future Ghosts’ in 2024, again collaborating with Berlin drummer Stefan Wittich and mixing & mastering from Zach Hanson (Bon Iver, The Staves, Whitney) the album has a familiar yet fresh sound and feel. The European continent was early to catch on to Dekker’s indie-folk music laced with falsetto and nylon string guitar. Dekker will hit Northampton this Spring after playing huge festival stages around Europe recently.
Dekker, who has lived in Nottingham since 2010, grew up in the midwest of America. After over 20 years of writing and playing (thousands of shows) with bands and projects (including Rue Royale, Lambert & Dekker), it’s all come together for Brookln in the form of ‘Dekker’.

Plus support from ALMOST TWINS
Even before having released music together, Almost Twins have become an insider tip
in the Leipzig and Berlin indie scene. Within a year, the Leipzig-based indie-folk band
has performed at several festivals and clubs all over Germany and recorded their debut
album with producer and bassist Alexander Binder (Anna Erhard, Dota, Crucchi Gang,
Anna Hauss) in Berlin. Their songs play with complementary contrasts and oscillate
between subtle complexity and the charming simplicity of honest lyrics.
In search of sound expansion singer and guitarist Max Grüner, who first started Almost Twins as a solo project, found an almost twin-like understanding in his four bandmates through their shared closeness to music. Laurenz Welten (saxophone, clarinet),
Valentin Mühlberger (Wurlitzer, synth), Raphael Schuster (drums) and Arne Imig (bass) complement Max's songs in a way that give his emotions the necessary expression without being pathetic. Warm synth carpets and swirling Wurlitzer patterns combined with dreamy saxophone and clarinet lines create a sound that feels light without losing depth, radiating tranquility yet allowing itself to break free from it. A perfect singer-songwriter dream, reminiscent of Erlend Øye (Kings Of Convenience), José Gonzáles or This Is The Kit.
Max will perform the songs of their current album Hands/Trees, in an intimate solo version.
