About this Event
This course focuses on the core principles that drive the defensive use of the shotgun for the private citizen. Topics will be covered in sufficient detail to introduce and develop skills for people new to the shotgun as a defensive tool, or to refresh/update already developed skillsets.
Emphasis will be placed on key skill areas for the successful decensive use of the shotgun. Topics covered will include shotgun setup, preparatory storage best practices, use of ready positions, recoil control and mounting the gun, ammunition management, target ID processes, post shooting sequences, and multiple target drills.
Students will need the following
A reliable 12 gauge or 20 gauge shotgun.
150 rounds of birdshot.
10 rounds of buckshot
Eye and ear protection.
A camp chair or similar to sit in during breaks.
Snacks, drinks, food, comfort items.
The course will be held at a private range facility in the central Arkansas area. Range location and directions will be sent to those registered for the course.
There is a $20 range fee to be paid in cash to the range owner the day of the class.
