Defending the Bookshelf

Join the Bucks County Beacon, The Peace Center and The Rainbow Room as they welcome the authors of Ban This!: How One School Fought Two Book Bans and Won (and How You Can Too). Teachers Ben Hodge and Patricia A. Jackson and students Christina Ellis and Olivia Pituch will be discussing how to creatively and effectively respond to book challenges that happen in your school and community. Topics will include arguments against the common reasons given to ban books in schools and public libraries, speaking out against censorship, and defending intellectual freedom.
