The 'Australia Remembers Northern Beaches and North Shore' committee organises a ceremony each year to commemorate the invasion of the Japanese in World War II through Sydney Harbour – the ceremony is called the Defence of Sydney Service. This year will be the 30th year of the unveiling of the Defence of Sydney Monument at North Head and the 30th anniversary of the committee holding the service on the Memorial Lawn at North Head.North Sydney RSL Sub-Branch will be laying a wreath.
