MAGASIN 4 PRESENTS :DEFACEMENT (NL) (Dissonant Death / Black)
With an inception going back to 2019, Defacement rapidly gained momentum within the underground realms with two full-length records, marked by an intense and experimental take on Death and Black Metal.
Three long years after 'Deviant' (2019) and its self-titled successor (2021), the international band flares its cryptic head yet again, with an epic tome of twisted and gnarly emanations and an all around immersive pathway into the void, entitled 'Duality'.
SIDEREAN (SI) (Death / Black)
Past the edge of reason and harmony we find SIDERAN coming from space via Slovenia. Cosmic and deadly, atonal but harmonic. Adventurous and unlimited, their cosmic and technical approach to metal does not in any way stand in the way of elegant brutality and force. Yet, it’s a more intelligent force and a more stellar brutality. SIDERAN offers a unique blend of both dissonance and harmony. Freedom of generic arrangements is the key. It’s also wonderfully liberating listening to the easiness of the craftsmanship. Sometimes complexity sounds forced and natural. This is not the case with SIDEREAN.

After an extended process of distillation and transmutation, Moss Upon The Skull returns to present their musical philosopher’s stone in the form of a second full length album entitled “Quest For The Secret Fire”. The album represents the opposition between material and spiritual alchemy, as presented in the Hermetic
tradition. With this new record, the band shows streamlined and captivating songstructures, with melodic references to
classic metal origins and influences from Eastern rhythms referring to the Arabic origins of alchemy, while at the same time reserving space for progressive excursions to speak to the listener’s imagination and to reflect the adventurous nature of life through their idiosyncratic blend of death metal.
