About this Event
We're excited that Dan Strange will be joining us for the day to teach on the theme - Making Faith Magnetic.
This year (2025) Bradford is the City of Culture, and Dan will be helping us think about how we can connect our culture to Christ. What does it look like for us to engage constructively with the culture around us as Christians?
Dan is the director of Crosslands Forum, a centre for cultural engagement and missional innovation. Formerly he was college director at Oak Hill College, London. He is a visiting professor at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, contributing editor for Themelios, and a Fellow of The Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics. His most recent books are (The Good Book Company, 2019), and (The Good Book Company, 2021). Dan is married to Elly, has a large family, and is an elder of Hope Community Church in Gateshead in the North East of England (although he is still a West Ham United season ticket holder!).
Dan will start with an overview of the Bible's teaching about culture before sharing some of the insights from his recent book. In this he highlights 5 recurring themes which our culture can't stop talking about, and shows how Jesus speaks powerfully into each one.
Over the course of the day there will be three sessions from Dan interspersed with times of prayer, praise, discussion and Q&A. There will be plenty of breaks during the day to chat with one another over refreshments and lunch will also be provided. 10ofThose will be bringing a bookstall and a number of other local Christian organisations will be setting up stalls for the day.
Deeper Kids
This year we're really excited to be able to offer a kids program alongside the main conference for primary age children (reception - year 6). This will run from 9.30am-12.30pm which will allow parents to enjoy the first two sessions of the conference and finish with lunch together.
The children will also be thinking about how Jesus relates to the world we experience day by day. There will be songs, games, teaching, craft activities and lots of fun. All of our volunteers will be DBS checked and have experience in working with children in local churches.
If families come with pre-school children there will also be a crech room set-up with a video link so parents can watch the conference with little ones.
Whilst there is a cost of £10 for adults to register for the conference kids go free. You can register their names and ages through eventbrite to book their place and fill in a fuller registration form on the day. Doors will open from 9am for registration on the day.
