Join us the first four Sunday evenings in March for a simple supper of soup and bread at 5pm, followed by our program at 6pm.Series Description:
Lent in the Episcopal tradition calls us to self-examination, repentance, prayer, and renewed attention to God’s presence in our daily lives. Over four evenings, we will explore ancient spiritual practices that have shaped Anglican prayer and devotion across centuries. Drawing on contemplative, monastic, and embodied traditions, these sessions offer both theological grounding and practical experience. Whether you are seeking new ways to pray or a deeper rhythm for an already-established practice, these evenings invite you into a more intentional and grace-filled Lenten journey.

Evening 1 (Sunday, March 1): “Be Still and Know”: Centering Prayer in the Anglican Tradition with Elise Hansard and the Rev. Stephen Stanley
Centering Prayer offers a simple yet profound way of consenting to God’s presence and action within us. Rooted in ancient Christian contemplative practice and resonant with Anglican spirituality, this evening will introduce the theology and practice of silent prayer as a way of deepening trust in God beyond words. Participants will learn the basic method of Centering Prayer and reflect on how silence complements the liturgical and sacramental life of the Episcopal Church.
