Dr. Schnabel, an esteemed marine biologist with a PhD in Marine Sciences from Otago University, has dedicated her career to exploring the mysteries of the deep sea.In this talk, Dr. Schnabel will take us on a journey through her extensive work, including her research on deep-sea specimens collected using advanced sampling tools on international research vessels such as the NIWA RV Tangaroa, Japanese RV Yokosuka, Chinese RV Tansuoyuhao, and the upcoming voyage on the German RV Sonne. Her expertise spans the globe, from studying Arctic invertebrates in Canada to her current focus on deep-sea life in Aotearoa.
