🌿 Decolonize the Dinner Table: Cooking Workshop 🌿Monday, August 25 | 6 – 8 PM | Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness
Join us for Decolonize the Dinner Table, a hands-on cooking workshop series where we reimagine everyday dinner staples using healthier ancestral ingredients and whole-food preparations!
Each month, we’ll prepare a familiar American dinner table staple – think Spaghetti Night, Taco Night, Meatloaf, Beef Stroganoff, Casseroles, Pot Pie, Shepherd's Pie, Sloppy Joe's, Chicken n' Dumplings – but swap out the processed foods and boost the nutritional and cultural goodness with traditional Indigenous and whole food ingredients.
✨ What to Expect:
Hands-on cooking instruction with seasonal, Indigenous ingredients
Practical tips for replacing processed foods with whole-food alternatives
Cultural and historical context for the foods we prepare
A shared meal and community conversation
No prior cooking experience needed.
THIS EVENT IS FREE TO ATTEND
SPACE RESERVED FOR OUR INDIGENOUS RELATIVES
Let’s come together in a space of learning, nourishment, and cultural connection. Join us as we GATHER, HEAL + GROW 🔥
