About this Event
In July 1776, servicemen tore down and cut apart the gilded statue of King George III at Bowling Green. This act continues to serve as a symbol of liberation today.
Join Scholar-in-Residence for a fun, family-friendly reenactment of this historic event in front of the Old Stone House.
Visitors of all ages are encouraged to write tyrannies they seek to declare independence from on a re-created statue of King George III.
Then we will read the Declaration of Independence and tear down the statue!
