Deception Pass State Park Camp OutFebruary 20-22
The Quarry Pond camp site is at Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island. The State Park is about an hour South of the Peace Arch border crossing. And about an hour forty minutes North of Seattle if you are coming from that direction. Anyone with an interest in VW camper vans is welcome (you don’t have to own one to come).
We try to camp in the 302-360 range of sites. The official State Park policy is not to allow doubling up so it is good to reserve early. Remember to select a site in the QUARRY POND loop on the East side of Highway 20. The Whidbey Naval Air Station is nearby. It is possible that there could be noisy jet activity. This has never been a problem in the last few years that I have hosted but it is a possibility.
The Pot Luck is Saturday. The food line starts at 5 PM (sunset is 5:30) so you will want to set up before then. Bring a dish of your choosing and chairs. There is a shelter. You may want to bring some kind of camp light. Campfires are OK. Power is available.
