Classes limited to 4 people

This is a basic class where you will learn the principles and fundamentals of pattern drafting. Students will learn techniques that focus on various styles that can be created with pattern drafting. Students will start with a basic sloper, which are the basic blocks of the body- the bodice, skirt, and sleeve. From there, we will address fit issues and create a perfect sloper fit for you. By the end of this class, you will have the confidence to start pattern drafting on your own.

Optional: Bring Your Own **Straight Stitch Sewing Machine - you will be directed on how to use it, and better understand the opportunities your specific machine offers you!

We will also have straight stitch machines for your use as well. Students that do not bring their own sewing machines will take turns completing their assignment on the available machines at our space. The large space on the 3rd Level will ensure that our social distancing protocol is still followed. You must follow all regulations by wearing a face mask at all times and using sanitizer to wipe down your space after every use.

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, February, 14th, 21st & 28th at the same time & location.

March Start Date #3: Monday, March 7th, 2022, 6:00 PM- 8:30PM

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, March 14th, 21st & 28th at the same time & location.

May Start Date #4: Monday, May 9th, 2022, 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, May 9th, 16th & 23rd & 31 at the same time & location.

June Start Date #5: Monday, June 6th , 2022, 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, June, 13th, 20th & 27th at the same time & location.

July Start Date #6: Monday, July 11th, 2022, 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, July 18th, 25th & August 1st at the same time & location. (class moves up one Monday with 4th of July Holiday)

August Start Date #7: Monday, August 8, 2022, 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, August 8th, 15th & 22nd & 29th at the same time & location.

September Start Date #8: Monday, September 5th , 2022, 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, September 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th at the same time & location.

December Start Date #9: Monday, December 5th , 2022, 6:00 PM- 8:30 PM

Recurring Sessions: You will be meeting on Monday, December 5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th at the same time & location.

Each session, the class will cover the following:

• Bodice pattern drafting
• Sleeve pattern drafting
• Bodice style lines and creation
• Skirt pattern drafting
• Skirt style lines and creation
• Pants pattern drafting
• Pants style lines and creation

By the end of this class, you will have a minimum of two designs that you have created within the class.

Please purchase the following supplies:

• 10 yards of muslin
• L square
• clear french curve
• hip curve ruler
• tape measure
• pattern drafting pinwheel
• pencils – no pens
• 2-inch clear ruler
• paper scissors
• pins
• scotch tape
