About this Event
Introduction to Ashtanga & Mysore-Style Practice
This 3 week introductory course offers a grounded and experiential approach to the traditional practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Designed for both beginners and continuing students, it provides the structure, consistency, and support needed to develop a sustainable yoga practice rooted in awareness, discipline, and breath.
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic, breath-centered practice that links movement and mindful attention through a set sequence of postures. The praxis/method builds strength, flexibility, focus, and resilience—both physical and mental—while cultivating inner stillness through steady practice.
In Mysore style practice, students learn and progress through the sequence at their own pace, receiving individualized guidance and adjustments from the teacher. This approach honors each student’s body, rhythm, and process, fostering self-reliance and deeper connection to practice.
