A three-course plated luncheon will be served. Free parking is available at the New Haven Lawn Club, which is handicap and ADA Accessible, and on the Yale Shuttle and CT Transit bus lines.
Allyx Schiavone is the Executive Director of Friends Center for Children and a leading voice in transforming early childhood education. Since 2009, she has guided Friends Center’s growth to three New Haven locations and established it as a national model for addressing the challenges of an underfunded childcare system. A passionate advocate for access, equity, and educator well-being, she has championed innovative programs that supplement teacher salaries, strengthen professional pathways, and center the emotional health of both educators and families.
During her tenure, Allyx has launched nationally recognized initiatives—including the Emotional Wellbeing Program, the Teacher Leadership Program, and the groundbreaking Free Teacher Housing Initiative, featured by The New York Times, CBS Sunday Morning, and Univision. An expert in early childhood and elementary education, she is also an accomplished curriculum author and has served as a teacher and administrator in schools across Connecticut and New York.
