In his 2024 film "Displaced but Not Erased,” Piedmont University film student Jarrett Ray uncovers the lost history of Beacon Hill, a once-thriving, predominantly Black community in Decatur, Georgia. “Paddle4Tomorrow” (2025) by HJacobsCreative documents the volunteer work of a group of outdoor enthusiasts in Atlanta who organize kayak outings, nature walks and art programs for children at no cost to their families—with the emphasis on fun. There will be Q&As after the films and guest speaker Greg White, formerly the recreation director in Decatur, will talk about his current project of helping the growing population of unhoused in the city.
