Join us Saturday, October 12, 11 am for a free, fun and informative tour of the Decatur Cemetery focused on Decatur Street Names. Zack Ray, City of Decatur’s Cemetery Specialist and Rhonda Wildman, Chair of Friends of Decatur Cemetery, will lead a 1.5 mile walking tour highlighting people buried at the Decatur Cemetery who have streets named for them. Learn how the names Candler, Scott, Forkner, Swanton and many more shape the Decatur we love today. Meet at the Decatur Cemetery office at the Bell Street entrance at 11 am.At the end of our tour, we will walk over to our Commerce Drive neighbor, Diamond Dust Cupcakes. In addition to their daily flavors, the featured flavors will be Pumpkin and Apple Pie that weekend!
