We'll be on the little known and often under appreciated Texas Beach Trail out and back from the Pump House for this three mile hike. Due to bridge repairs currently underway at the Texas Beach pedestrian crossover we won't be able to make a loop. So, we'll get a double dose of Foushee's Mill, Charlie's Crossing, the railroad tracks and the riverside trail. And you'll get an opportunity to actually stand on Texas Beach! There will be an abundance of other sights and sounds to capture your attention going and returning!
As with all hikes, this one begins at the posted time, not five or ten minutes later. If you are unfamiliar with the meet up location, add a few minutes to your travel schedule so you will not arrive at an empty parking lot (seriously). Some ability to negotiate tree roots, rustic trails, low hanging vines, toxic plants, culverts, reptiles, damp trail conditions, stairs, spider webs, fallen trees, scorpions, skunks, migratory waterfowl, and river rocks is desirable. Hiking sticks are recommended.
